Vasse Felix was established in 1967 by pioneer Dr Thomas Cullity and is the founding wine estate of Margaret River. Vasse Felix is situated in the Wilyabrup sub-region of Margaret River, with vineyards also located at northern and southern sites of the wine appellation. The first vineyard blocks were planted in August, 1967.

Grosset Wines is an independently owned winery producing seven highly regarded premium wines each vintage. Established in 1981, the winery is situated in the historic township of Auburn at the southern tip of the Clare Valley, 100 kilometres north of Adelaide. While in its third decade, annual production is capped at 12,000 cases (dozens), predominantly produced from twenty two hectares of estate vineyards.

The Henschke family has been making wine since Johann Christian Henschke planted a small vineyard on his diverse farming property at Keyneton in 1862. Today, it is fifth-generation Stephen Henschke and his wife Prue at the helm, passionately upholding the family name and reputation. Planted in 1969 Moss Wood is an important, founding estate of the Margaret River wine region, located in the northern sub–region of Wilyabrup, Western Australia. Clare & Keith Mugford, as winemakers, viticulturalists & proprietors, have been making wine & tending the vineyard at Moss Wood since 1984 & 1979, respectively. Their exacting viticulture ensures the production of grapes of excellent quality & they have created a stable of fine wines distinguished by their consistency over each vintage & their ability to age superbly. Bindi’, 50 kilometers north-west of Melbourne in the Macedon Ranges, is the family property of the Dhillon family. Originally purchased in the 1950s as part of the larger grazing farm ‘Bundaleer’, ‘Bindi’ is a 170 hectare farm of which 6 hectares are planted to Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Fifteen hectares are dedicated to managed plantation eucalypts for high grade furniture timber whilst the remainder of the land is maintained as remnant bush land and important indigenous grasslands. The Bindi vineyard is the fundamental focus of our endeavors. Our vineyard and winemaking philosophy is to seek balance and purity in the expression of our various individual vineyard sites and this philosophy is applied to farming and conservation at ‘Bindi’; the preservation of the natural harmony. Featured on the Bindi label is Kostas Rind (1909 - 1983). In the words of Bill Dhillon: "Kostas Rind was a Lithuanian sage who epitomised wisdom and humility. From a migrant hostel in Albury, this mathematician and former professor was recruited to Ballarat Boys Grammar School. Kostas taught me much. He introduced me to wine. I was privileged to know Kostas and am very grateful for his influence. We continue to dedicate Bindi wines to Kostas."

Tapanappa was founded by the legendary Brian Croser in 2002. The word Tapanappa is probably derived from the local aboriginal language, and likely translates to “stick to the path”. This is exactly what Tapanappa is doing. Through Tapanappa, Brian is continuing a career-long mission of matching the climate, soil and geology of distinguished sites to the right varieties, and then fastidiously developing and managing the vineyards to optimise quality. Tapanappa is dedicated to producing unique “wines of terroir” from its three distinguished sites in South Australia out of its winery that is located in the heart of the Piccadilly Valley.

Giant Steps wines are a distinct expression of special, individual sub-regional vineyards, focusing exclusively on single vineyard Chardonnay and Pinot Noir sites throughout the Yarra Valley. Howard Park Wines is a West Australian family-owned winery, producing a range of handcrafted fine Australian wines from the state's premier grape growing regions of Margaret River and the Great Southern. Stonier Wines was established at Merricks, on the cool southern edge of Victoria's picturesque Mornington Peninsula, in 1977. One of the first wineries in the region, Stonier first planted Chardonnay vines in 1978, followed by Pinot Noir in 1982. By 1988 the vineyard had expanded to 6 hectares, with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay the core focus for the winery. These two varieties are what Stonier, and the Mornington Peninsula, has built its reputation on.

Australia's first boutique winery, Lake's Folly was established by Doctor Max Lake and his family in 1963. Still family-owned more than 50 years later, owner Peter Fogarty with winemaker Rodney Kempe continue to maintain the quality and integrity of this significant vineyard. Our two flagship wines - a Cabernet blend and a Chardonnay - are made in limited quantities, and are grown, vintaged and bottled on the Estate. Tod Dexter grew up with wine. Along with his parents' considerable interest in wine he had a childhood friendship with the Crittendon family, one of Melbourne's premium wine merchants who further introduced him to the world of wine. It was then no surprise that in 1974 after a skiing trip in the US, Tod ended up in the Napa Valley where he spent a seven-year apprenticeship with one of California's premium family wineries, Cakebread Cellars. Tod moved home to Australia in January 1987, and after an extensive search he and his wife Debbie bought a vineyard site at Merricks North on the Mornington Peninsula. Later that year they planted their first 1.6 hectares of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Tod then joined forces with Brian Stonier at Stonier Wines where, over the next ten years, he grew the company to become one of Australia's premium producers of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. During this decade the wines Tod created received many accolades both at home and internationally. During a formative trip to France in 2000 when they visited the most famous Pinot producers in the world, Tod gained a new respect for the concept of terroir and the responsibility to future generations in caring for the land. He also had reinforced to him the importance of attention to detail in both the vineyard and winery. This trip was what encouraged Tod and Debbie to take the next step and produce their own wine. Thus Dexter Wines was born.

The Hickinbotham Clarendon Vineyard covers a steep cut of country from the ridgetops above the village of Clarendon to the Onkaparinga River in the gorge below. Since its establishment in 1971, the Hickinbotham vineyard has become a part of Australia’s wine heritage, supplying fruit to produce many of Australia’s greatest wines.

Jane and Peter Thompson purchased the Thompson Estate property in 1994, and the first plantings of chardonnay and pinot were in 1997, followed by the cabernet plantings in 1998. New plantings include new Burgundian clones of chardonnay, a total of 20 hectares under vine. Wilyabrup has the ideal number of sun exposure days per year for optimal ripening, and is surrounded by sea on three sides on the South West cape of Western Australia, allowing the cooling maritime breezes to keep the fruit cool and add intensity of flavours similar to the great years of the Bordeaux region of France. Thompson Estate and its immediate neighbours in Wilyabrup produce some of Australia’s “icon status” chardonnays and cabernets. It is with some pride and fascination for Peter Thompson, a cardiologist, that Vasse Felix, the first vineyard in Margaret River, and Thompson Estate's next door neighbor, was planted in Wilyabrup by Dr Tom Cullity, a cardiologist who was a mentor for Peter.

The Stein Family has a long history of Viticulture in Australia, dating back to 1838 when Johann Stein arrived from Germany bringing with him the first cuttings of Rhine Riesling to survive in Australia. Over a century later, the tradition was revived when in 1976 Robert “Bob” Stein purchased 75 acres of prime wine-growing country on the current site on Pipeclay Lane in Mudgee NSW. From the first plantings of Shiraz the vineyard has grown to 10ha in size with plantings of Chardonnay, Riesling, Semillon, Gewürztraminer, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Muscat Today the Winery is in the capable hands of second generation Drew Stein, and his son Jacob. This is a true family business with the grapes being grown, wine made and bottled on site. Jacob returned to Mudgee in 2009 after seven vintages away from home, including Germany and Italy, gaining experience essential to winemaking and viticulture. Robert Stein Winery have over 20 wines to taste at our cellar door, with all grapes grown, wine matured and bottled on site. The cellar door offers tastings of the current range of wines 7days from 10am – 4:30pm. Other attractions at the winery include the Motorcycle Museum and the Pipeclay Pumphouse Restaurant

Our winery started in 1997 with three family owned vineyards in Main Ridge, all ten minutes by tractor apart. Over the past 15 years, Martin and Karen Spedding have been the driving force that have taken Ten Minutes by Tractor on to become the lauded winery it is today. Ten Minutes by Tractor has maintained a relentless focus on quality and the production of single vineyard and single block wines that reflect their different aspects, slopes, soils, altitude and cool ocean breezes which flow from Bass Strait, Western Port and Port Phillip through the valleys that crisscross the Mornington Peninsula. Our journey started as an exploration of the three original vineyards in Main Ridge, today we are helping to lead the development of new vineyard architecture, close planted vineyards, innovations in organic cultivation and viticulture and helping to continue the development of the Mornington Peninsula region as a leading producer of high quality Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in Australia.

Established in 1973 by David and Heather Watson, Woodlands is one of Margaret River's first five wineries. Woodlands produces wine from its two vineyards, both located in the Wilyabrup Valley of Margaret River. The original Woodlands Vineyard is located on Caves Road, while the Woodlands Brook Vineyard is located two kilometres to the northeast. Woodlands' Vineyards are dry grown and maintained by hand using organic and traditional methods. Wines produced include Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Merlot blends, and Chardonnay. All Woodlands wines are made on site by the Watson family.

Rhythm Stick Wines is an exclusively Riesling Varietal wine producer. We commenced our first Riesling production in 2009 after selling our single vineyard fruit to local small wineries. We have a passion for Riesling & produce approximately 10,000 litres per annum. Our Goal is to produce Premium Gold Medal award wining, Dry Riesling varietal wines under our Red Robin label. When conditions are suitable we also produce a Reserve Riesling from our single, dry grown vineyard.

Pewsey Vale Vineyard’s love affair with Riesling started in 1847, when our vineyard was the first planted in the Eden Valley. A hidden utopia, our family reinvigorated Pewsey Vale Vineyard in the 1960s. The focus fell sharply on the beauty and diversity of Riesling in its many forms. One vineyard. One variety. One vision. This vision has seen Pewsey Vale Vineyard create the most awarded and beloved Riesling in Australia.

Voyager Estate is located in the premium wine producing region of Margaret River, Western Australia. Latest statistics show that, although only producing 4% of Australia's wine by volume, Margaret River wines account for 23% of the country's premium wine production. Voyager Estate is proud to be among the select wineries that contribute to this production. Our oldest vines date back to 1978, just over 10 years after vines were first planted in the area. When current owner, Michael Wright, took over the property in 1991, he set out to expand it and develop a visitor destination that would be a showcase for the region. He also set out to ensure that, above all else, the quality of wine being made at Voyager Estate would always be the best that nature, expertise and pure hard work could provide. Mr Riggs was founded in 2001 as a collaboration between Ben Riggs (with decades of vintages at McLaren Vale’s Wirra Wirraunder his belt and his mentor, Penny’s Hill proprietor Tony Parkinson. The winery is positioned at the premium end of the ladder, using Ben’s extensive contacts with growers to cherry pick fruit from Adelaide Hills, Langhorne Creek (internal link to LC region section) and McLaren Vale, among other sites. The year 2013 saw the demerger of the Galvanized Wine Group – the collective that oversaw Mr. Riggs’ operations, including his collaboration with Tony Parkinson. Ben is buoyed by his newfound freedom to polish and perfect the wines in their exciting evolution. Mr. Riggs’ winemaking philosophy is to make unpretentious wines that express the essence of the vineyard and the region’s terroir in a style that Ben enjoys drinking; big, rich and complex, but also with finesse, texture and elegance, the latter not necessarily being traits Ben possesses. Mr. Riggs wines are stamped with Ben’s considerable European experience, as well as his unique vision for wines produced on his hallowed South Australian stomping ground.

Balgownie Estate was one of the pioneers of commercial winemaking in the Bendigo Region, first planting vines in 1969. Established by the now legendary winemaker Stuart Anderson in 1969, Balgownie Estate was the first vineyard planted in the Bendigo district in more than 80 years. The emergence of Balgownie Estate as a serious red wine producer in the 1970's led to the rapid expansion of the central goldfields wine growing region and was a significant player in the rebirth of the Victorian wine industry. The 33 hectare vineyard is situated on a gentle slope overlooking Myer's Creek at Maiden Gully. This superb site of alluvial soil has major plantings of cabernet sauvignon and shiraz with smaller amounts of pinot noir, chardonnay, merlot, cabernet franc, petit verdot and viognier. The conditions for premium wine grape growing are ideal with long hot summer days ameliorated by very cool overnight temperatures. Sidewood Estate is a privately owned vineyard, nestled in the cool climate region of the Adelaide Hills, the heart of Australian cool climate wine. Owen and Cassandra Inglis purchased the estate in 2004. All of our grapes are carefully handpicked from only selected rows across our 300 acre estate. Our wines are made by internationally acclaimed winemaker, Natasha Mooney on-site at one of Australia's premier wineries. Our aim is to create stylish and elegant wines that are focused on quality and underpinned by impeccable winemaking, whilst championing the award winning wine region of the Adelaide Hills. The style is vibrant, vivacious, fruit driven, fresh, clean and fruit driven with great intensity and structure. Indulge with good food, good friends, family and good conversation.

Alex has long been interested in 'Old-World' wines and their symbiosis with all things culinary; particularly Shiraz from an appellation in France's Northern Rhone Valley called Cote Rotie (roasted slope). Shiraz has been the only red grape grown there for thousands of years, initially thought to have been cultivated by the Roman Empire. A great legend states that in the Middle Ages, a Seigneur of Ampuis called 'Count Maugiron' owned the steeply terraced hills of Cote Rotie. He was also blessed with two beautiful daughters, one a blonde and the other a brunette. The Southern slope of the Cote (also suited to viognier) which contains more granite, mica and limestone made a softer, rounded more elegant wine which delighted its drinkers with perfume and femininity. Here, the soil and wines showed colour and character of his blonde daughter. The Northern slope contained heavy soils of schist and iron, producing an intense wine with dark fruits and tannin that required age to show its true potential. Here, the soil and wine showed colour and character of his brunette daughter. When Count Maugiron finally retired he passed on the two Cotes to his daughters and to this day, they are still referred to as the 'Cote Blonde' and 'Cote Brune'. These soil structures and colours are of utmost importance to the properties of the fruit which grow in these vineyards. For Alex's unique Barossa Valley wines, he selected two vineyard sites where, similar to Côte Rotie, the soils produce contrasting styles of Shiraz. 'The Blonde' comes from a vineyard in Stonewell, which consists of sandy loam mixed with quartz on a limestone base that gives the wine accentuated perfume and complexity. 'The Brunette' comes from a high elevation vineyard in Moppa, which consists of heavy soils of deep red clay and ironstone that give structure, longevity and reward from cellaring.

POOLEY WINES has an historical property and two separate vineyards in the Coal River Valley in southern Tasmania. The Coal River Valley has developed a worldwide reputation, and is ideally suited, for the production of cool-climate wines such as Pinot, Riesling and Chardonnay.

Terrific vineyards, surf beaches and a close proximity to Melbourne mean the Mornington Peninsula is the perfect home for Polperro, Even Keel, Sam Coverdale’s family. Having grown up surfing the beaches of northern New South Wales and South East Queensland, Sam started out as a vintage cellar hand at Tyrrell’s at just 18 years of age, before completing degrees in Business from the University of Queensland and Wine Science at Charles Sturt University. Sam joined Hardy’s, working across several Australian wine regions, then in Spain, Italy and France learning from the likes of Jean-Marc Lafage. Through this technical grounding and experience, Sam developed a strong sense of the wine he loves to drink and make – wine that plays to the strengths of particular regions and is true to the climatic conditions of each vintage. He established Even Keel in 2006 with a view to creating drinkable, balanced and elegant wines that continue to interest beyond the first glass. Thereafter Sam founded Polperro in 2009, to showcase single vineyard sites on the Mornington Peninsula.

Flametree Cellar Door and Winery is located on the picturesque shores of Geographe Bay, at the gateway to one of the world's great wine producing regions – the Margaret River Wine Region. Established in 2007 by the Towner family, Flametree Wines was created with passion for wine and a vision to become a world recognised winery producing exceptional quality wines with a laid-back style and elegance.

Starting along the shores of the Yarra River at 75 metres and peaking at 225 metres above sea level, Levantine Hill Estate’s vines fan out over steep clay loam slopes at similar elevations to the Grand Crus vineyards of Chablis, France.

Damian’s long held dream to start his own wine business has seen the Journey come full circle with his return to the Yarra Valley and the creation of Journey Wines. Damian sources the fruit for Journey Wines from a number of exceptional vineyard sites in the Yarra Valley, and makes the wines in the beautiful new winery at Medhurst Wines.

Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Great Dividing Range in the Grampians region of Victoria, the Mount Langi Ghiran (Aboriginal for home of the yellow-tailed black cockatoo) vineyard is one of the most isolated and unique sites in Australian viticulture. The vineyard, with its towering granite cliffs and loamy red soils, encapsulates an extraordinary sense of place. Mount Langi Ghiran , or Langi, as it is fondly referred to by the staff, was originally planted in 1870. It has become the home of one of Australia's finest cool climate wines, the Langi Shiraz. Langi was first planted with Shiraz in 1870, but was later replanted by the Frantin brothers in 1963. The exceptionally high quality of the Fratin's fruit quickly drew a strong following and in 1978, the brothers appointed Trevor Mast as consultant winemaker. Inspired by the potential of the vineyard and keen to develop it further, Trevor and Sandra Mast purchased the property in 1987. In late 2002 the property was sold to the Rathbone family. Trevor stayed on as head winemaker, with Dan Buckle joining the team. Dan took the reins from Trevor in 2003 and has continued on the tradition of exceptional winemaking.
